Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., has a long and illustrious history with being politically active, vocal and involved in public policy on every level. Our Founders’ FIRST public act was to march for women’s rights back in 1913 when women didn’t have the right to vote. Delta’s have been in the fight for equality and justice since it’s onset… therefore, we as an entire body are fully dedicated to all things Political/Social Action related.

A few of the current goals under the umbrella of Social Action are as follows;

• To promote leadership, advocacy, and empowerment to effect social change and public policy

• To establish a position on an issue

• To advocate for policies and legislation

• The National Social Action Team determines the action to be taken by the body
