President's Message

On behalf of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Hayward-Tri-City Alumnae Chapter, welcome to our website. Our chapter is located in the beautiful Bay Area in Northern California and is part of the Fabulous Farwest Region. We have been an integral part of the Hayward-Tri-City community for more than 15 years and have a vast legacy of leadership in public service and social responsibility in Northern California.

As one of Delta Sigma Theta’s more than 900 chapters, our work focuses on the sorority’s Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Educational Development, International Awareness and Involvement, Physical and Mental Health and Political Awareness and Involvement. To that end, we provide programs and services that improve the quality of life in our community. Our commitment to this endeavor is apparent through programs and activities including our Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, healthy living fairs, HIV/AIDS educational seminars, local political forums, voter registration drives and the ongoing support of the Mother of Peace Orphanage in Zimbabwe (partial list). In addition, we provide scholarships to high school students, as well as “late blooming” students, on an annual basis.

Our chapter is able to provide yearly scholarships and fund these much-needed programs through our on-going fundraising efforts. This year, we invite you to support and attend our Seventh Annual Music on the Green Brunch on April 26, 2009. Your support will help ensure that our community’s youth, as well as its under-served, get a helping hand that may make all the difference in their futures.
